Heavy Rains and Brown Water Advisories: What it means to Coastal Resources
Lecture by Dr. Kathy Chaston, Coastal Management Specialist, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

Are you concerned about hurricanes in Hawai’i? Are you wondering how global warming may impact our islands, and if you and your home are safe in the event of severe flooding, tsunamis or other coastal natural hazards? If so, don’t miss the free lectures held every Thursday throughout the month of May at the City and County of Honolulu’s Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve. Every participant will receive a free copy of the University of Hawai’i Sea Grant College Program’s recent publication Homeowner’s Handbook to Prepare for Natural Hazards.

All lectures are free and open to the public beginning at 6:30 pm at the Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve Theater. Parking and entrance to Hanauma Bay are free after 5:30 pm.
