An upcoming June 9, 2009 ” Getting in Step Workshop ” on Educating and Motivating Audiences to Protect Water Quality still has a few seats open. People involved in outreach, especially related to water quality, are invited to attend. The workshop is free of charge and is sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Region 9 and Hawai`i Department of Health, Polluted Runoff Control Program. For more information see attached and/or contact Lawana Collier at 808-586-7773 or Melissa DeSantis at melissa.desantis@tetratech.com.

Workshop Goal: Improve the effectiveness of polluted runoff outreach in Hawai’i to reduce polluted runoff and stormwater pollution, improve water quality on a priority watershed basis, and facilitate greater polluted runoff TMDL and watershed-based plan implementation.

Pre-Workshop Instructions to Attendees:
Workshop attendees are strongly encouraged to come with one of your previous outreach efforts or an outreach effort that is currently being planned that relates to polluted runoff or watershed protection/restoration. Please bring samples of any visuals (print or electronic versions), evaluation results, budget information, and any other information that will help provide a full, start-to-finish description of your outreach effort.
